The problem

A missed call is a job someone else gets.

When you’re on a roof, in court, with a client or under a car, the phone keeps ringing. Most people who reach voicemail don’t wait — they call the next business on the list.

Calls come at bad times

Mid-job, after hours, on weekends — exactly when nobody can pick up.

Voicemail waits. Callers don’t.

By the time you call back, they may have booked someone else.

Emergencies can’t sit in a mailbox

A burst pipe at 2 AM needs a person on the phone, not a beep.

How it works

From ring to booked job.

You keep your number. Calls you don’t answer go to Ava instead of voicemail.

  1. 1

    Forward your calls

Keep your number and your phone company. Forward every call — or just the ones you don’t pick up — to your Call Captain number.

  2. 2

    Ava answers and books

She asks the right questions for your kind of business, offers real open times, and books the one the caller picks.

  3. 3

    Emergencies ring your on-call team

After hours, she gets the details and rings whoever is on call — in order, until someone presses 1 to take it. If nobody does, she promises the caller a call back.

  4. 4

    You see every call

Each call lands in your portal with a summary and the full transcript, linked to the customer and the appointment.

Ava asks what your business needs.

Pick your type of business and she follows the right script — and books what you sell.

What Ava asks

  • What’s going on, with one follow-up (“Is water coming in right now?”)
  • Name, with the last name spelled out
  • Best callback number
  • Service address — street, city and zip
  • Email for the confirmation

What she books

What are missed calls costing you?

Put in your own numbers. It’s a rough estimate, not a promise — but it shows why every call matters.

Estimated revenue at risk per month $8,667 An estimate: missed calls × average job value × 52 weeks ÷ 12 months. It assumes every missed call was a job — if only some would have hired you, the real number is lower.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

Is it a robot?

Yes — it’s an AI. Every call starts with it saying it’s a virtual assistant and that the call may be recorded, and if someone asks, it says honestly that it’s an AI.

What happens in an emergency?

It gets the caller’s name, number and what’s happening, then rings your on-call person — and, if you set them up, up to 3 backups, one at a time, while the caller holds. Each person hears who’s calling and why, and must press 1 to take the call, so voicemail can’t pick it up. If nobody does, it comes back to the caller and promises a call back within the time you set (5 to 60 minutes; 10 if you don’t change it). In your portal you set your daytime calls (a ring list for business hours) and your after-hours on-call (a weekly rotation, plus a default after-hours number for any week without one).

Can I keep my phone number?

Yes. You keep your number and your phone company. You set your line to forward calls to your Call Captain number — all calls, or only the ones you don’t answer.

What if it can’t help the caller?

It takes a clear message for your team, or — during business hours — connects the caller to a person when they ask or press 1. It doesn’t make up prices or promises.

Can callers reach a real person?

During business hours, yes: they can press 1 or ask, and the call rings your transfer number — or your ring list of up to 4 people, in order. After hours, only emergencies and callers you’ve marked VIP are transferred, to your on-call team.

Will it quote prices?

No. It only shares facts you’ve given it, and never invents prices, availability or promises.
